Louis Marcoccia, Syracuse University’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, announced Wednesday he will retire on June 30.

Gwenn Judge, director of SU’s Office of Budget and Planning, will serve as interim CFO while the university searches for a replacement, according to an SU News release.

Marcoccia came to SU as the director of internal audit in 1975 before ultimately being named CFO in 2006. While at SU, he also served over different periods as senior vice president for business, finance and administrative services; senior vice president for business and finance; and vice president and comptroller.

In the release, Marcoccia called it an “honor and privilege” to have worked at SU as an executive.

“Now I look forward to the next phase of my life,” he said in the release.

SU Chancellor Kent Syverud said in the release that Judge, who has served in her current position since 2007, is “well positioned to lead us through this transition.”

“I am grateful for her leadership and look forward to working with her in the weeks and months ahead,” Syverud said in the release.
