Staff: SU track and field heads to Boston and New York City for two separate meets
Some members of the Syracuse men’s and women’s track and field teams will both compete this weekend — albeit 215 miles away from each other.
A group from the men’s and women’s teams will be competing in the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden in New York City today, while another group from both squads will travel to Boston to compete in the Terrier Invitational. The meet, hosted by Boston University, will also take place Friday.
The Millrose Games, one of the most storied track and field events in the United States which consists of participants from amateur, collegiate and professional ranks, is in its 103rd year of existence.
At the Upstate Challenge, hosted by Cornell Jan. 22 and Jan. 23, the women’s track and field team took home four first-place titles. Evan Stivala led the SU men, winning the men’s heptathlon high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters.

Krifchin won the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:56.37. Osazuwa took home the title in the women’s pentathlon high jump with a leap of 1.67 meters.
