Gallery: Syracuse hangs on against Maryland, 72-70
Syracuse (6-0) stayed perfect Monday night, winning its hardest game of the season yet, 72-70, against Maryland (6-2). Tyus Battle fought through a back injury to lead SU with 18 points, including a clutch corner 3-pointer with less than a minute to play. Frank Howard led a stout defense with seven steals to accompany his 15 points and 10 dimes. For the Terrapins, Kevin Huerter was on fire, splashing seven of his nine attempts from behind the arc, including a late 3 to keep Maryland in the game.
