5 Syracuse players named preseason All-Americans, SU picked 2nd in Atlantic Coast Conference

SU had five players awarded with preseason All-American accolades from Inside Lacrosse.

Inside Lacrosse All-American honors for five SU players

Five Syracuse players received preseason All-American honors from Inside Lacrosse on Wednesday morning.

Riley Donahue and Morgan Widner were the only two players to earn spots on an All-American teams, as both landed on the third team. Alexa Radziewicz, Natalie Wallon and Emily Hawryschuk were each given honorable mentions.

Donahue, an attack, led the Orange in goals last season (42) and enters this season as SU’s top option. Widner, a draw control specialist, ranked seventh in the country last season with 7.09 draw controls per game. A native of Coppell, Texas, the sophomore owns the Syracuse record for draw controls as a freshman with 156.

SU picked to finish second in preseason Atlantic Coast Conference poll

Syracuse was picked to finish second in its conference in the preseason ACC women’s lacrosse poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. The Orange also landed two players on the preseason All-ACC team in junior defender Alexa Radziewicz and senior attack Riley Donahue.

The Orange received 53 total points in the poll including two first-place votes — tying Boston College, which finished third in the poll.



North Carolina led the ACC with 59 total points and four first-place votes in the poll. The Tar Heels tied Boston College with four players each on the All-ACC team.
