The Counseling Center satellite office will move into the current Health Services building.

Syracuse University on Friday announced it will relocate some offices currently housed in the Health Services building to make room for a future Counseling Center satellite office.

The Office of First-Year and Transfer Programs and the Office of Learning Communities will be moved to Schine Student Center, suite 235, according to a Friday SU News release. The Office of Health Promotion will be moved to 804 University Ave., suite 110 — the former location of Syracuse University Ambulance, per the release.

The offices will be open in their new locations when students return from spring break, according to the release.

SU is planning to open a Counseling Center satellite office in Health Services to supplement the center’s current office at 200 Walnut Place.

SU extended the Counseling Center’s hours and plans to increase center staffing as part of the university’s $100 million Invest Syracuse Initiative. The center will eventually move into the renovated Archbold Gymnasium building, which is expected to open in fall 2019.

The expanded gymnasium building, which will be called The Arch, will house counseling, health and recreation services, among other things.
