DPS reports attempted robbery in East neighborhood Wednesday night
A female student reported being approached by an unknown man demanding money at the intersection of Euclid and Ackerman avenues Wednesday night, according to a Department of Public Safety e-mail sent to students.
The student was approached at 6:45 p.m. while walking east on Euclid Avenue, according to the e-mail. The man demanded money and showed her appeared to be a black handgun and then fled, running north on Ackerman Avenue toward Thornden Park, according to the e-mail.
DPS is looking for help in identifying the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s to early 30s, between 5-feet-9-inches and 5-feet-10-iches tall and of medium build. He was last seen wearing a black and gray ‘fleece-style’ coat, black winter hat, black jeans and dark shoes, according to the e-mail.
The student did not report loss or injury, according to the e-mail.
DPS could not be reached for comment.
