Syracuse (8-6, 0-4 Atlantic Coast) rose two spots to No. 16 in the Inside Lacrosse women’s poll. The Orange’s climb comes after SU split last week’s games against Loyola and Virginia Tech, beating Loyola and losing to VT, with both games coming on the road and extending to overtime.
Despite the slight improvement from last week, SU still has gained no traction in the ACC, as the loss to Virginia Tech on Saturday — Syracuse’s second-straight one-goal game — kept the Orange winless in conference play and at the bottom of the standings.
Emily Hawryschuk and Nicole Levy both had six-goal games on separate occasions against the Grey Hounds and the Hokies, respectively, as the Orange’s recent overall offensive struggles continued to shine through.
Stony Brook remained at the top of the rankings for the seventh straight week followed by Boston College and Maryland.
