Syracuse has scheduled a home-and-home series with Purdue which will take place in 2022 and 2023, SU Athletics announced Wednesday afternoon. The Orange will host the Boilermakers in their first ever trip to the Carrier Dome on Sept. 17, 2022. The next season SU will travel to Indiana to play Purdue on Sept. 16, 2023.
The two schools have met one time in the programs’ histories. That 2004 season-opening matchup ended in a 51-0 loss for the Orange.
In 2022, Syracuse will also host Notre Dame at a date to be determined, while in 2023 SU will host Army the week after traveling to Purdue. The Orange still have two nonconference spots to fill in both the 2022 and 2023 season.
CORRECTION: In a previous version of this article, the year Syracuse will travel to Indiana was misstated. SU will play in Indiana in 2023. The Daily Orange regrets this error.
