Syracuse redshirt senior forward Miranda Drummond is one of 20 candidates for the Cheryl Miller Award, an award given to college basketball’s best small forward.

Drummond had a strong first season with the Orange last year after her transfer two years earlier from St. Bonaventure. She averaged 14.9 points for the Orange last season and led SU in three-point percentage (.402) and 3-pointers made (84). Eight of the 20 Miller Award finalists will face SU this season, including Duke’s Leaonna Odom and Notre Dame’s Jackie Young. The Orange open their season Nov. 6 against North Dakota at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
