Attacker uses pole in robbery

Three males robbed a Syracuse University student while he was walking alone on the 500 block of Ostrom Avenue at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to a SU campus safety alert sent out Tuesday evening.

The three men were carrying metal poles and demanded money from the victim, the alert stated. The victim said he turned to run away, but was hit in the back with one of the poles, according to the alert.

The victim then gave his attackers all of his money and the suspects ran towards Thornden Park, the alert stated. The victim was treated for injuries and released from a local hospital according to the alert.
