Syracuse (8-4) avoided dropping its third-straight nonconference game by defeating Arkansas State (5-7), 82-52. The Orange went into halftime only up a bucket, but they blew the game open in the second half behind 17-point performances from Tyus Battle and Elijah Hughes and 13 rebounds from Paschal Chukwu.
