Syracuse moved up three spots to No. 12 in the final AP Poll before Monday night’s NCAA tournament selection show. The ranking ties its highest rank of the season.

The Orange (24-8, 11-5 Atlantic Coast) advanced to the semifinals of last week’s ACC tournament before losing to Notre Dame for the second time this season. Their two wins against Virginia and Miami, however, seemed to have secured SU a top-four seed in the upcoming tournament.

On Thursday, Digna Strautmane scored 14 points in the victory and a day later, Tiana Mangakahia totaled 24 points and 13 assists in a seven-point win.

An NCAA tournament game in the Carrier Dome would mark the first time ever the women’s program has hosted an opening matchup. The selection show begins at 7 p.m. on Monday.
