The Department of Public Safety and Syracuse Police Department are investigating reports of a robbery at Huntington Hall, DPS said in a public safety notice Monday night.
A male suspect approached an SU student at about 6:30 p.m. and asked for money, the student told DPS. The suspect told the student his car had run out of gas. When the student opened his wallet, the suspect grabbed it, took cash and dropped the wallet on the ground as he ran away, DPS said in an updated notice.
After leaving the building, the suspect headed north on University Avenue and then west on Marshall Street, DPS said. The suspect is described as approximately 5’10, wearing a black Verizon jacket and blue jeans.
The student reported the incident to DPS at about 7:15 p.m., the department said.
Huntington Hall, located between Waverly Avenue and Marshall Street, houses Syracuse University’s School of Education.
