SA proposes student, faculty review of course curriculum next semester
Students frustrated with course load and quality of classes have a chance to implement change next semester through the Student Association’s plan for a curricular review.
The SA announced plans Monday night to implement the review sometime during the spring semester to examine whether or not a change in the curriculum is necessary, said SA President Andrew Lederman.
‘Students feel some classes aren’t required or are too restricting (for their majors),’ Lederman said.
Lederman decided to push for a curricular review after meeting with the president of the Student Government Association at Harvard University. Harvard’s SGA completed its review last year.
If the review is carried out, it will involve the entire Syracuse University community, including faculty and students.
‘The students have a right to input what the curriculum should be,’ Lederman said.
