Syracuse featured twice on ESPN’s ‘Big Monday’
Syracuse will face both Notre Dame and Maryland as part of ESPN’s “Big Monday” broadcasts during the 2013-14 season.
The Orange will host the Fighting Irish on Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome and visit new Atlantic Coast Conference foe UMD on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
SU is featured in two of the conference’s eight Big Monday games. Both of those games are nestled in the middle of the eight-week lineup, which runs from Jan. 13 to March 3. Each game starts at 7 p.m. and will be showcased on ESPN.
Some other notable ACC “Big Monday” games are Duke versus Pittsburgh on Jan. 27, Maryland versus Virginia on Feb. 10 and Notre Dame versus North Carolina on March 3.
Syracuse beat UND, 63-47, in the Carrier Dome last season on Feb. 4. C.J. Fair paced the Orange with 18 points, while Jerami Grant scored a career-high 14 points against his brother, Jerian Grant. Notre Dame also switched from the Big East to the ACC for basketball.
The last time Syracuse played Maryland was in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament in 2008. Syracuse won that game 88-72 thanks to 23 points and seven assists from Jonny Flynn.
The remainder of Syracuse’s schedule – including dates, start times and television information – will be released later this month.
