Kaleb Joseph, the No. 15 point guard in the country and a four-star prospect, verbally committed to Syracuse on Saturday during an official visit, he announced on his Twitter account.

Joseph, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard from Ashburnham, Mass., becomes the second member of the Orange’s Class of 2014, joining five-star forward Chris McCullough.

The guard, who will be a senior at Cushing Academy this year, burst onto the scene in the spring of 2012, playing alongside Indiana commit Noah Vonleh. Last season, though, he transformed himself into a savvy scorer and surged up the rankings. He is currently ranked as the No. 67 player in the country by Scout.

Joseph chose SU over 10 other offers, including ones from Connecticut, Maryland, Ohio State, Creighton, Marquette, Providence and Tennessee.

Should incoming freshman point guard Tyler Ennis stay beyond this season, Joseph will also have the opportunity to learn on the bench behind another gifted guard, although Syracuse’s current lack of depth in the backcourt could mean he will have a bulk of opportunities from the moment he steps on campus.
