Robinson adds two more to staff
Syracuse football head coach Greg Robinson announced the addition of two position coaches to his staff, which has grown to six members since the beginning of this week. Desmond Robinson will be SU’s next running backs coach. He was formerly the head football coach of Westminster School, a prep school in Simsbury, Conn.
Greg Robinson also named Tim Cross as defensive line coach. Cross served as the assistant strength coach at Texas, where he coached alongside Greg Robinson last season.
Desmond Robinson played football at Pittsburgh in the late 1970s, and also coached in NFL Europe. He has coached at Notre Dame, West Virginia, Tulane, Dartmouth, Connecticut and Pittsburgh.
Cross played college football at Northern Colorado in the late 1980s. Before serving at Texas, Cross was the head coach at Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Co.
‘Both of these guys are family people,’ Greg Robinson said. ‘I am pleased to welcome them into the Syracuse family and they are great additions.’
Earlier this week, Major Applewhite was added as quarterbacks coach and Steve Russ as linebackers coach. Chris White and Reggie Terry were retained from Paul Pasqualoni’s previous unit.
